OCD

 Dear readers,

Today I’d like to write about obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). This illness features a pattern of unwanted thoughts and fears that lead you to do repetitive behaviors, which interfere with daily activities and cause significant distress. Patient can try to ignore or stop his or her obsessions, but that only increases his or her distress and anxiety. But how look the symptoms? They constant obsession, persistent and unwanted thoughts, urges or images that are intrusive and cause distress or anxiety. They usually concern fear of contamination or dirt, doubting and having difficulty tolerating uncertainty, needing things orderly and symmetrical, aggressive or horrific thoughts about losing control and harming yourself or others or unwanted thoughts, including aggression, or sexual or religious subjects. And then a patient for example compulsively wash his hands. Do you often meet people with various compulsions? Leave a comment and see you soon.

  1. There are plenty of people with mild OCD symptoms around. I wonder if the syndrome is genetically or environmentally conditioned?
